The Fullerton Hotel: A Grand Stay in Singapore
If there is one word I would call this hotel, it is grand. With its beautiful French-inspired columns, marble corridors, and quiet sense of heritage, The Fullerton has a presence that feels effortless. It does not try to impress you as it simply knows what it is. When I visited in December, they had a beautiful teddy bear Christmas tree that was so adorable that I took pictures with it daily.
Originally built as Singapore’s General Post Office, the building now carries a calm kind of energy. Light streams through tall windows and reflects softly against polished stone. The air smells faintly of orchids and the lobby hums at its own pace.
The rooms are elegant and restrained, with high ceilings, crisp linens, and views that open onto Marina Bay or the river. Mornings begin with filtered sunlight and the sound of porcelain from the café below. You linger over coffee here because time feels slower inside these walls.
By afternoon, the hotel glows. The river breeze moves through the terrace, and guests gather for high tea beneath white arches. The pool mirrors the city skyline, perfectly still. Every detail feels intentional and quiet.
At night, the façade lights up in gold. Reflections ripple across the water as the city moves beyond. The Fullerton feels timeless at this hour, balanced between past and present.
There is a grace to this place that cannot be replicated. The Fullerton does not follow trends or chase attention. It endures.
Why I loved it:
It is elegant, composed, and sure of itself. A reminder that true luxury is steady, not loud.
Best for:
Travelers who value heritage, light, and calm in the heart of the city.
